As part of the Bulls marketing shoot we did on Monday 31st January, I also did a quick shoot with Katryn Barwise the 2012 Miss Limpopo.  She wanted a few photos that she can use as official photos and here are 2 photos just to share with you.

Just after Katryn Barwise was elected as Miss Limpopo 2012 , she approached me and asked that I must be her official photographer during her reign.  What an honour and we gladly accepted.  A few days ago I got the call from her that we must do a studio shoot for the marketing of the Bulls vs Cheetahs game that will be played at the Peter Mokaba Stadium on Saturday 11 February 2012.

On Monday morning the 30th January I had the whole studio full of people, and in the shoot was none other than Katryn as Miss Limpopo as well as the Polokwane Mayor Freddy Greaver.  I have done a few shoots with the mayor and I must say he looked like a flanker ready to play when he had his Bull shirt on.  A very photogenic and relaxed person in front of the lens.  Once again thank you Mr Greaver for the opportunity to work with you again.

Here are a few of the shoot and we now wait and see what the newspaper will use.

Naeem and Tasneem is getting married in April and last weekend was their engagement that was held at the Polokwane Royal Hotel.  Before the function we took some casual photos of them as a couple.  They are such fun and very relaxed in front of the lens.

Here are a few of their photos

MegaPix,

We felt that your photo, titled “Drakensberg sunset”, was more appropriate in a different category. To view it, and to find out where we moved it (look in the upper left for the category name), visit this link: http://www.outdoorphoto.co.za/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=295225

Thanks!

As mentioned in the previous post we had a wedding in Lesotho and from there went to the Drakensberg to do the Engagement Session, Wedding and Trash the Dress for Johan and Rianca.

In February 2011 I got an email requesting a quote from a couple on the East Rand.  I saw them while I was in Pretoia and after seeing my albums the decision was made that I shall cover their big day.  It did not stop there as the previous Trash the Dress sessions I’ve done made such an impression on Rianca, that she wanted to do that as well.  They had a lot of planning to do, as part of the wedding day shoot was a trip with a helicopter to the top of the Drakensberg, from where we shot some stunning images.

As time grew closer to this wedding the more excited I became.  WOW WOW WOW is all I could say when we went for the Engagement Session at Royal Natal Game Reserve.  We went to the Cascades where they got engaged, and there we re-enacted it to get some photos at the spot.  The next day (13 December 2011) was the day of the wedding and the Chapel at Cathedral Peak was the venue for this awesome occasion.

At 17h00 we got into the air on a glorious sunny day and when we got to the top of the world I was in awe.  The shots that I got was so spectacular and such a shame that I can not show all of them here.

The Wednesday we went back to the Cascades where the Trash the Dress session was done.  A lot of spectators was standing around and could not believe this bride in the water.  All I could say was that we had such a wonderful time with all that we did and this must be one of my best weddings ever.

Thank you to Johan and Rianca for everything they did for me and my wife.  It was an honour to be part of your Wedding.

Here are a few of the various days.  I hope that you will like them?  Please leave comments at the bottom.

MegaPix Productions had the honour of travelling down to Lesotho to cover the wedding of Sammy and Teboho (Violet).  We left Thursday 8 December 2011 to Pretoria where we slept over and left early the Friday morning in weather which felt like winter in the Cape.  12 degree weather and raining buckets full, we set of towards the Border posts just after Fouriesburg at Caledonspoort.  From there another 40km drive to Hlotse where the wedding was held.

WOW is all we could say seeing the lovely nature and mountains in this little Kingdom.

Sammy and Teboho is both from Polokwane and it came clear why they took everything with for the wedding as there are no service providers to assist with weddings.  We were commissioned to do Photos and Video, and we were a team of 5 as we also did a Live Broadcast to Big Screen to show what was happening in the front for all the guests at the back.

This was our first wedding where we were such a huge team and directing everything was quite a challenge.

On Saturday the ceremony was delayed due to circumstances beyond the couple’s control, and when it was time to get Teboho into church, the rain came down so hard that we were all drenched at one time.  Just after the ceremony we decided to go straight to the reception and chose to do the couple shoot the next day, hoping that the rain would have passed.

On Sunday just before we had to leave for another wedding in the Drakensberg we took the couple shots at a spot not far from the church, but again we had some stunning scenery to work with.

Sammy, we once again say THANX for the opportunity to be part of your big day.

Here are some of the photos of the wedding and couple shoot.

Being a full time wedding photographer for more than 3 years I always ran around with other people’s weddings.  Almost 80 weddings later I got the chance to be a guest at a wedding and as luck would have it the date was one where I was not booked.  The 3rd December 2011, was booked early in the year and a few months later the couple broke up.  Funny that this date never got a booking request again and when my Brother-in-Law (wife’s brother) invited us to his wedding on this day, I immediately decided to PAY my services FORWARD and asked Francois (2nd Photographer) and Juan (Videographer) to capture the memories of Pieter and Caren.

So the photos and video that MegaPix Productions did was a wedding gift to them.

It was also the first time that we covered a wedding at Cuzebuli and I am proud to say that Francois and Juan did an excellent job.  I never got involved and this was also something new for me.  I salute you 2 guys on doing such a great job.  I know that Pieter, Caren and all the family would just be as pleased.

Here are some photos telling a short story of the day

After doing and Engagement Session and a Wedding for Roan and Katherine, it was time to go to Debengeni Falls in Magoebaskloof to do their Trash the Dress Session.

On Saturday the 12th November 2011 (our only non Wedding Saturday) we had the pleasure of doing the Trash the Dress session in wonderful weather.  Almost no clouds in the sky and also not a lot of people at the popular picnic spot.  We started early and after a hectic drive with a lot of roadworks in between, we got the most stunning photos of them in the water.

It was quite difficult to choose a few to showcase here, and once again I decided to show a few that will tell the story of the day.

We also took our video camera with, to do a BEHIND THE SCENES shoot.   CLICK HERE to view the video

Here are a few of the session.  I trust that you will also enjoy them as much as we did when taking them?
